Winning every game in the 2nd half of the season is the only way the
Dangels have any chance to retain their Swiss Championship this year
having suffered two defeats in the 1st half of the season. One of
those defeats was against Bern Red Devils, where we slumped to a 31-7
defeat back in October.
An open, bruising game of 10’s on a hot day, with tired legs made for
‘exciting’ (nerve-wracking) viewing for the folks on the sidelines &
quite a lot of injury breaks. Luzern drew first blood playing with
pace & good support in attack, however lack of structure in defence
cost us dearly and at half-time Bern were in the lead. In the
second-half, we started strongly again & with downhill advantage were
able to maintain the intensity & clinch the game & a bonus point too.
Tries: Lala (2), Julia, Judith, Cap’n Mac
Conversions: Cap’n Mac (2) – the ref only marked one, but I get few
enough & I *know* it was two 😉 So, although the official score was
27-19, it was really 29-19 😉
Angel of the game: Iris – fantastic work throughout the game & a
brilliant tackle on the super-speedy Bern winger in the last few
minutes
Devil of the game: Cynthia – knocked-on as she stretched out to score
what would have been the game-clinching try
Time for everyone to go & lie in an ice-bath & get ready for Yverdon next week!
